FAQ

What happens when my trial ends?
The agent stops enforcing (devices are allowed to fail-open) and the dashboard goes read-only. Your data is preserved for 30 days. Add a card any time during or after to resume — we never delete on the trial deadline itself.
Do you require a credit card to start?
No. The 14-day trial doesn't ask for one. You add a card from the dashboard whenever you decide to keep using PermitUSB.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
Month-to-month, no minimum term. Cancel any time from the dashboard's Billing page. Adding or removing 10-packs prorates against your next invoice automatically.
What if I have 11 endpoints? Or 17? Do I pay for unused slots?
Yes — capacity is sold in increments of 10. 11 endpoints needs the 20-pack ($60/mo) with 9 spare slots. The trade is no per-endpoint micro-charges and predictable monthly bills. 1,000+ endpoint deployments get custom pricing — see Contact.
Can I deploy more endpoints than my paid capacity?
No — enrollment is hard-gated by your capacity. The agent install fails with a 'capacity exceeded' message until you add another 10-pack from the dashboard's Billing page.
What about kernel-mode driver / BitLocker / file-copy auditing?
On the v2 roadmap. v1 is user-mode enforcement — strong against casual tampering, transparent about its limits. The v2 kernel driver is the main differentiator we're building toward.
Do you support macOS or Linux?
Windows-only at v1 by design — that's where the SMB target lives. macOS / Linux agents are v2 / v3 territory.
